Exercise that places emphasis on the Core
Pilates is a form of exercise that places emphasis on the Core. Principles such as the breath, posture, balance, control, flow, precision, concentration, and alignment are all important in my classes. Through exercise and stretching we aim to improve our core strength, both our back and tummy, to increase flexibility, and improve posture. It is a mindful exercise class so it can be very stress relieving too.
Many clients come with issues such as back pain and poor posture and have found great benefit from Pilates. As a teacher I work hard to offer modifications and look to help each client work at their own level. I want clients to challenge their body each week but I always emphasise ‘less is more’.
We run Pilates classes in East Kilbride on Mondays at 6pm, 7.15pm and 8.30pm at The Village Centre, and Saturdays at 9am and 10am at Mossneuk Primary.
